Subotic Ineligible For Germany

WASHINGTON, DC (Oct 24, 2008) USSoccerPlayers -- Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic will not be able to play for the German National Team, according to a FIFA eligibility rule.  That rule requires a player to be a citizen of a country when he plays his first youth international.  Subotic played his youth internationals with the United States, before he was a German citizen.

Subotic has so far refused to align himself with the United States as a senior international, with Bosnia and Serbia also countries he could potentially represent.

Wow…What a great addition that would be for our National team. I think he would be a lot stronger then Heath Pierce (although I like him) because of his ability to go forward and his scrappy play in front of the goal. Cher, Boca, Gooch and Subotic would be huge. It would also give us some depth. This guy is ligit!
