Toronto announced late Friday that they have completed a trade with Vancouver for forward Eric Hassli. In exchange, Toronto gives up their 1st round pick in 2014 and an international roster spot. Hassli will fill a designated player slot with Toronto. US Soccer Players' Dario Camacho outlined the need for Toronto to make a major move in his column earlier today, and this certainly qualifies.
“Adding a player of Eric’s ability gives an immediate improvement to our club,” Toronto coach Paul Mariner said in a press statement. “He has had a lot of success in this league and we are pleased to bring him to Toronto.”
