Mexico's Fall season started under a new name for the competition, Liga MX. Herculez Gomez started strong for Santos Laguna, scoring the winner in a 2-1 result over San Luis. with Santos down a goal a minute in, Carlos Quintero equalized in the 4th minute. Gomez scored in the 72nd.
Jonathan Bornstein subbed on in the 86th minute for Tigres in 4-0 shutout of Chiapas. Alan Pulido (7th), Juninho (19th), Lucas Lobos (35th) and Manuel Garcia (40th) scored the goals. Edgar Castillo's Tijuana also opened the season with a shutout, beating DaMarcus Beasley's Puebla 2-0. Castillo subbed off in the 62nd minute. Beasley left in the 22nd with an injury. On Sunday, Jose Francisco Torres played 79 minutes for Pachuca in a scoreless draw with Atlante.
Terrence Boyd needed four minutes to score his first goal in Austria's Bundesliga, leading Rapid Vienna to a 4-0 win over Wacher Tirol. Boyd wasn't done, recording an assist and scoring Rapid's fourth goal in the 71st minute.
In Belgium, Sacha Kljestan subbed on in the 85th minute for Anderlecht in their 3-2 Supercup win over Lokeren. Anderlecht's Dennis Praet opened the scoring in the 24th minute and Dieudonne Mbokani scored in the 47th. Lokeren came back with to equalize, but Guillaume Gillet scored the winner in the 75th minute for Anderlecht's tenth Supercup.
Superliga, and Charlie Davies subbed on in the 69th minute for Randers in a 1-0 win over Odense BK. Odense failed to convert a 36th-minute penalty, with Randers' Lasse Rise scoring the game's only goal in the 60th minute. Clarence Goodson was yellow carded in the 60th minute with Brondby losing 2-1 to Aalborg. Brondby led from the 48th minute but gave up goals in the 56th and 67th.
