Steve Cherundolo started for Hannover 96 in their 5-3 win over Slask in Wroclaw. Hannover's Leon Andreasen opened the scoring in the 7th minute and Jan Schlaudraff doubled the lead in the 25th. Slask pulled a goal back in the 34th, but it was 3-1 Hannover when Lars Stindl scored in the 40th minute. Slask came back in the second-half, scoring in the 54th and equalizing in the 61st. Andreasen scored his second goal of the game to put Hannover back in front in the 82nd and sub Manuel Schmiedebach finished off the scoring three minutes later.
Jozy Altidore started for AZ in their 1-0 loss to Anzhi at Moscow's Lokomotiv Stadium. Anzhi scored in the 51st minute. Both teams had eight shots, but Anzhi put five of those on frame to AZ's two. Mix Diskerud started for Rosenborg in their 1-1 draw with Legia in Warsaw. Legia opened the scoring in the 42nd minute with Rosenborg equalizing from a Borek Dockal goal in the 80th. Diskerud was yellow carded in the 35th minute. In Greece, Terrence Boyd subbed on in the 82nd minute in Rapid Vienna's 2-1 loss to PAOK. Rapid's Deni Alar opened the scoring in the 25th minute with PAOK equalizing in the 69th. Boyd took Alar's place a minute before PAOK scored their winner.
Oguchi Onyewu wasn't in the squad for Sporting's 1-1 away draw with Horsens.
