Rangers advanced in the Scottish Communities League Cup on Tuesday night at Ibrox. Now playing in the Third Division, Rangers entered the competition in the First Round. Carlos Bocanegra started and Lee McCulloch opened the scoring 15 minutes in. Dean Shiels made it 2-0 in the 34th with Lee Wallace adding a third in the 47th. McCulloch finished off the scoring with his second goal of the night in the 62nd minute.
“There were some very good individual performances and I felt at stages we passed the ball really, really well," Rangers manager Ally McCoist said. "The one-touch, two-touch stuff was great. That’s only the second competitive game and a few of the lads are obviously still searching for fitness."
