A team making the group stage of the 2012-13 UEFA Champions League will receive a minimum of €8.6 million before collecting their share of marketing money, European soccer's governing body announced on Friday. A group stage win is worth €1m with €500k for a draw. Advancing to the knockout stage earns a team a €3.5m, the quarterfinals €3.9m, the semis an additional €4.9m, and the runner-up €6.5m with the champion getting €10.5m. Like with the group stage amounts, this is all before dividing the €409.6m market pool based on the value of the domestic television market of participating clubs. UEFA also announced that the normally overlooked Super Cup between Chelsea and Atletico Madrid will be worth €3m for the winning team and €2.2m for the loser. That game is scheduled for August 31st.
