It was a tough night in the Premier League for Tim Howard and Everton, who had two goals called back in their draw with Newcastle at Goodison Park. Leighton Baines opened the scoring for Everton in the 15th minute, with Demba Ba equalizing for Newcastle in the 49th. Victor Anichebe subbed on just before halftime for Everton, and had a shot seem to cross the line without a goal given late in the second-half. He would score in the 88th, but Ba would equalize again for Newcastle in stoppage time. Marouane Fellaini had an earlier Everton goal canceled by a questionable offside flag.
"There's two goals that have been missed and we can't get them back," Everton manager David Moyes said. "Fellaini was onside for his and, if the linesman's job is to look along the line, you hope that they see the ball cross the line [for Anichebe’s]. We've seen many occasions where they don't get it right and tonight was another one."
