Houston and Olimpia finished 1-1 at BBVA Compass Stadium on Tuesday night. Olimpia opened the scoring in the 21st minute with Houston's Andrew Hainault equalizing in the 65th minute. The point was enough for Houston to win Group 3. The referee sent off Houston coach Dominic Kinnear in the 40th minute.
At Rio Tinto Stadium, Real Salt Lake and Herediano finished scoreless, with Herediano advancing as Group 2 winners. “It’s a tough one to take," RSL midfielder Kyle Beckerman said. "We created enough chances to score four or five tonight, but we didn’t and so we’re not moving on.”
In Tuesday's other Champions League game, Monterrey shutout Chorrillo 6-0 to win Group 7.
