Garber fines Timbers owner

By Major League Soccer standards, Portland Timbers owner Merritt Paulson was fined significantly for "inappropriate conduct directed at the officials, and through the use of social media, during and after the Timbers’ match against D.C. United on Sept 29, 2012."  MLS commissioner Don Garber levied a $25,000 dollar fine.  Paulson used Twitter to complain about the officiating in that game and the lack of penalties his team has been awarded throughout the 2012 season.

All jokes about Paulson’s wealth aside, that’s a huge fine.
