Schmid sanctioned by Commissioner

Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber announced on Friday that he was suspending Seattle coach Sigi Schmid one game and fining him $2,000 dollars for criticizing the officials following Seattle's 0-0 draw with Salt Lake on Wednesday.  “Sigi Schmid’s comments earlier this week about the officiating were unacceptable,” Garber said in a press statement. “MLS requires that its players, coaches, and club leadership maintain proper respect for the officials at all times.”
