National Teamers Abroad: A goal and lots of cautions

We start in the Bundesliga, where Fabian Johnson scored in Hoffenheim's 2-1 loss to Bayer Leverkusen. Trailing by two goals, Johnson scored in the 59th minute. Steve Cherundolo and Hannover were on the wrong side of a 5-0 shutout against Bayern Munich. Bayern have a nine-point lead at the top of the table after 13 games. Timmy Chandler and Nurnberg played out a scoreless draw with Greuther Furth. Jermaine Jones and Schalke drew 1-1 with Eintracht Frankfurt. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar opened the scoring for Schalke in the 11th minute but Eintracht were level two minutes later.

In the Premier League, Clint Dempsey and Spurs beat West Ham 3-1 on Sunday at White Hart Lane. Dempsey assisted on Gareth Bale's 58th minute goal, doubling the lead. Jermaine Defoe scored his second goal of the game in the 64th minute with West Ham ruining the shutout in the 82nd. Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas said: "Dempsey had an extremely good performance."

On Saturday, Brad Guzan got the start in Aston Villa's scoreless draw with Arsenal. Eric Lichaj subbed on in the 51st minute. Tim Howard and Everton led from the 12th minute but Norwich City equalized in stoppage time for a 1-1 draw. Geoff Cameron and Stoke shutout Fulham 1-0. Cameron picked up a yellow card in the 57th minute at the Britannia Stadium.

In the Championship, Jonathan Spector and Birmingham City lost 3-2 to Derby County. Birmingham equalized twice in the second-half but couldn't keep out Derby's 84th minute winner. Spector picked up a caution in the 59th minute. Tim Ream and Bolton got a David N'Gog goal six minutes into stoppage time to split the points in a 1-1 draw with Brighton. Zac Whitbread and Leicester City shutout Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 at Hillsborough. Whitbread was booked in the 45th minute. A league down, Frank Simek and Carlisle beat Yeovil Town 3-1.

Elsewhere in Europe, Jozy Altidore and AZ were shutout 2-0 by Feyenoord. Sacha Kljestan and Anderlecht beat Beerschot 4-1 after trailing from the 12th minute. Kljestan picked up a yellow card in the 34th and subbed out in the 82nd minute. In Serie A, Michael Bradley and Roma shutout Pescara 1-0 on a 5th minute Mattia Destro goal. The referee cautioned Bradley in the 62nd minute.

In Denmark, Charlie Davies subbed on in the 82nd minute in Randers's 1-0 loss to AaB. Davies didn't finish, with the referee sending him off three minutes into stoppage time. Michael Parkhurst and Nordsjaelland were shutout 1-0 by Esbjerg.
