Helsingborg announced on Thursday that US National Team midfielder Alejandro Bedoya will remain with the club through at least the first half of the 2013 Allsvenskan season. Bedoya signed a six-month contract extension with the new Swedish season starting on March 31st. Bedoya joined the club in August after leaving Scotland's Rangers. Along with fellow National Team players Maurice Edu and Carlos Bocanegra, Bedoya made the move after Rangers were demoted to the lowest level of Scottish professional soccer. Helsingborg finished 6th in Sweden in 2012.
