National Teamers Abroad: Goals for Beasley, Altidore

US soccer player DaMarcus Beasley subbed on in the second-half of Puebla's 2-1 loss to Jaguares and equalized in the 69th minute on Sunday in Liga MX.  Jaguares scored their winner in the 87th minute.  Michael Orozco got the start and subbed out in the 61st. 

On Friday, Herculez Gomez subbed on in the 62nd minute at Estadio Nuevo Corona as Santos Laguna came back to beat Toluca 2-1.  Trailing from the 29th minute, Cesar Ibanez equalized in the 66th minute and Oribe Peralta scored the winner four minutes later.  Santos Laguna is fourth in the Liga MX table.  Saturday brought a tough outing for Joe Corona and Edgar Castillo's Tijuana, shutout 5-0 by Cruz Azul at Estadio Azul.  Jose Torres went the distance for Tigres, losing 2-1 to UNAM Pumas.  Tigres opened the scoring in the 8th minute but gave up an own goal four minutes later.

In Europe, Jozy Altidore scored a hat trick in AZ's 6-0 rout of Utrecht.  Altidore opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 28th minute and converted a second penalty six minutes later.  Both of those penalties cost Utrecht a player, with the club down to nine men by the 33rd minute.  Altidore scored from the run of play in the 37th.  AZ are 13th in the Eredivisie table to Utrecht's 6th.  In Belgium, Sacha Kljestan's Anderlecht drew 1-1 with Club Brugge.  After giving up a 28th minute own goal to open the scoring, Dieumerci Mbokani equalized in the 60th minute.  Terrence Boyd subbed out in the 79th minute in Rapid Vienna's 2-0 shutout of Wiener Neustadt.  Markus Katzer (49th) and Deni Alar (57th) scored. 

Charlie Davies subbed on in the 66th minute for Randers, shutout 4-0 by Esbjerg in Denmark's Superliga.  In Norway, Mix Diskerud started and subbed out in the 85th minute in Rosenborg's 1-1 draw with IK Start. Rosenborg led from the 8th minute, giving up an 87th minute equalizer.  Josh Gatt's Molde lost 2-1 to Sogndal, ruining Sogndal's shutout with a goal five minutes into stoppage time. Carlos Bocanegra's Racing Santander were shutout 1-0 by Girona in Spain's second division.  Michael Bradley's Toma beat Torino 2-1 in Serie A.  Pablo Osvaldo opened the scoring for Roma in the 22nd.  Torino equalized in the 31st, but Erik Lamela scored Roma's winner in the 60th minute. 

In the Bundesliga, Steve Cherundolo's Hannover 96 lost 3-1 to Freiburg on Friday.  After giving up a 24th minute own goal, Konstantin Rausch equalized for Hannover in the 36th minute.  Freiburg scored in the 44th and 73rd minutes.  On Saturday, Fabian Johnson's Hoffenheim drew 2-2 with Wolfsburg.  Trailing from the 13th minute, Hoffenheim's Sejad Salihovic equalized in the 35th and Andreas Beck put them ahead in the 63rd minute.  Wolfsburg equalized in the 86th.  Timmy Chandler subbed on in the second-half for Nurnberg, shutout 4-0 by Bayern Munich. 

Brad Guzan's Aston Villa picked up another point as they try to stay out of the relegation zone in the Premier League, drawing 1-1 with Fulham at Villa Park.  Villa's Charles N'Zogbia opened the scoring in the 55th with Fulham equalizing in the 66th minute.  Tim Howard picked up the shutout in Everton's 2-0 win over Queens Park Rangers.  Darron Gibson (40th) and Victor Anichebe (56th) scored.  Geoff Cameron started and played 71 minutes in Stoke City's 2-0 loss to Manchester United. A league down, Stuart Holden started and played 72 minutes in Sheffield Wednesday's 2-1 loss to Leeds.  Wednesday led from the 27th minute when Jermaine Johnson scored, but gave up goals in the 63rd and 69th.

    What position does Davies play for Randers? I ask because he doesn’t seem to score goals, yet he continues to at least get on the field which I take as a compliment to his play so I assume likely not in a striker role?
