KC Adds Four

KANSAS CITY, KS (Mar 28, 2008) MLS -- The Kansas City Wizards announced today the signing of four players to MLS developmental contracts. Defender/midfielder Jonathan Leathers, defender Matt Marquess, defender Rauwshan McKenzie and goalkeeper Boris Pardo have agreed to terms. Per league and team policy, financial details of the agreements will not be disclosed.

“We feel that we have added four very solid players to our developmental roster,” Wizards Technical Director Peter Vermes said. “Jonathan Leathers, Matt Marquess, Rauwshan McKenzie and Boris Pardo are all players who have the opportunity to progress and hopefully eventually make the senior team. They all have great talent.”

Leathers, Marquess and McKenzie were the last three 2008 SuperDraft selections by the Wizards. Pardo joins the Kansas City roster after spending a year as MLS league goalkeeper, though he trained in Kansas City for a majority of the season.
