Cory Gibbs will be a free agent at the end of the season, with Charlton Athletic announcing that they won't be re-signing him.
WASHINGTON, DC (May 2, 2008) USSoccerPlayers -- Charlton Athletic manager Alan Pardew announced on Friday that US National Team player Cory Gibbs won't be offered a new contract. Gibbs has yet to play for Charlton's first team this season, though he was called into National Team camp for the friendly against Poland. He did not play in that game.
"Cory's had terrible injury problems here, and unfortunately he's never really got going,” Pardew was quoted on Charlton's official site. "He will go to pastures new and hopefully have better luck than he did here. I wish him all the best."
After missing all of last season, Gibbs played five times for the reserves in 2007, breaking his foot in October.
