WASHINGTON, DC (Jun 27, 2008) USSoccerPlayers -- Houston and Dallas ended 1-1 on Thursday night, with Brian Ching scoring in the 21st minute and Kenny Cooper drawing FC Dallas even in the 62nd. Dallas has yet to win a game at Robertson Stadium in six attempts.
"The game is a sour point for us," said Houston coach Dominic Kinnear. "I thought we had more than enough chances in the first few minutes to possibly put the game out of reach. We were in good situations and had good chances. To get a tie out of it, we are not happy. The guys are disappointed, as we should be."
Houston goal scorer Brian Ching agreed: "I'll be the first one to say that I didn't have a great game tonight, but we had mistakes tonight. It is frustrating but it needs to be changed."
As for Dallas, coach Schellas Hyndman had to give up his new 442 in favor of the more comfortable 352. "In the second half, we went into a 3-5-2 and saw a different Dallas team that came out more aggressive and held the ball a little better," he said. "We were happy to come away with a point."
The result moves Dallas to 4th, two points behind third-place Houston. Both teams have already played their 15th games, two more than anybody else in the Western Conference except for Real Salt Lake with 14 games played.
