DC United forward Jaime Moreno became the first Major League Soccer player with 100 goals and 100 career assists on Friday. Already over the century mark on goals with 122, he grabbed his hundredth assist setting up Ben Olsen's goal in stoppage time to draw 1-1 with New England.
"I would have preferred to score that goal I missed but these are numbers that matter," Moreno said. "It's the work of 13, 14 years. I keep working and I hope I can continue to help DC."
Moreno has been adding to the all-time MLS goal scoring record since scoring his 109th goal on August 22nd, 2007. He is currently 5th for all-time assists, trailing Marco Etcheverry by a goal at 4th. New England's Steve Ralston is the all-time MLS assists leader with 129 and the only active player ahead of Moreno.
