Mexico coach Javier Aguirre was suspended for three games and the Mexican Federation was fined $25,000 dollars after incidents in their Group C game against Panama. The CONCACAF punishment means that Mexico needs to make the semifinals of the Gold Cup or Aguirre will miss the August 12th World Cup Qualifier against the United States.
"Well, I think it's the right punishment based on the magnitude of the event and I'm going to comply because I made a mistake and when you make mistakes you must pay," Aguirre said. "That's all I can say. There's nothing more to think about. I'm not going to repeat that kind of mistake. That's what I've learned."
