The Red Stars returned to the win column on Wednesday night, beating Washington 2-1 at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, IL. Abby Wambach put the Freedom up 1-0 in the 34th, but the second-half belonged to Chicago. Cristiane scored in the 48th and Lindsay Tarpley got the game winner in the 61st. “The first half we could have been up 2-0 but had a couple of bad breaks,” Freedom coach Jim Gabarra said. “Chicago also had several opportunities to score but either squandered them or Erin (McLeod) would make a great save.”
