First Star: Kenny Cooper made the most of his first game with TSV 1860 Munich, beating TUS Kobenz keeper David Yelldell in the 17th minute. Munich scored again in the 62nd through Benjamin Lauth for the 2-0 win. How much of a surprise seeing Cooper get the start is more down to lack of training time than intent. 1860 Munich management wasn't shy in pointing to him as part of their promotion push. That it not only started in game one of the new 2.Bundesliga season, but included a goal points to good things to come for Cooper and the new-look 1860 Munich.
Second Star: Troy Perkins was in goal as Valerenga needed three late goals to advance to the Norweigan Cup final 4-3 over Tromso. Valerenga's winner will go down as bad luck for Tromso, with Miika Kopponen turning the ball into the back of his own net to send Valerenga into the final.
Third Star: Michael Parkhurst's Nordsjaelland had no problems with Silkeborg on Saturday, beating them 3-0 at Farum Park. Rawez Lawan opened the scoring in the 7th minute, followed by Stephan Petersen in the 24th and Martin Bernburg in the 90th.
