Jonathan Spector went the full ninety plus overtime for West Ham United in their 3-1 win over Millwall. Neil Harris had the Lions up a goal in the 26th, but Junior Sanislas brought West Ham even three minutes from time. Stanislas converted from the penalty spot in the 98th, with Zavon Hines scoring from the run of play two minutes later. The clubs will be facing a Football Association investigation over fan violence in and around West Ham's Upton Park.
"Everything I do is to make sure the game is exciting for the supporters," West Ham manager Gianfranco Zola said. "That's what I always focus on and it's difficult to comment on this because it's not sport.... "I don't like these things: anybody who loves the game doesn't like these things."
Marcus Hahnemann got his first game of the season, with Wolves needing penalties to beat Swindon after ending 0-0 through regulation and overtime.
Frank Simek went the full ninety for Sheffield Wednesday in their 2-0 loss to Port Vale. Kris Taylor scored in the 63rd and Robert Taylor followed two minutes later. Chris Martin picks up the shutout. Wolves advance 6-5 after Gordon Greer missed for Swindon in round six. Hahnemann picked up a yellow card in the 115th minute.
Did Not Play: Jay DeMerit missed Watford's 2-1 loss to Leeds United. Robert Snodgrass scored for Leeds in the 38th minute, with Marvin Sordell forcing overtime with his goal in the 87th. It was Snodgrass again for Leeds, scoring the winner in the 98th. Mike Grella played 83 minutes for Leeds.
