Metapan opened the scoring through Elian Montes in the 7th, and were up 2-0 a minute later when Anel Canales scored. The Dynamo would pull level by halftime, with Geoff Cameron scoring in the 28th and keeper Tally Hall getting the unlikely equalizer in first-half stoppage time. His long clearance bounced in the Arabe Unido box as keeper Jose Luis Gonzalez got tangled up with Dynamo forward Brian Ching. Gonzalez was subbed at halftime. Emerson David Corleto Umana had the winning foal in the 57th, knocking Houston out and advancing Arabe Unido in second-place in Group A.
In that other Group A game, Pachuca continued their run of form in the Champions League with a 2-0 win over Arabe Unido. Jose Francisco Torres played the first half, with Ulises Mendivil scoring in the 43rd and the 54th for the win. Rodolfo Cota picked up the shutout with one save. Torres was yellow carded in the 34th minute. Arabe Unido finished with ten men when Carlos Bejarno was sent off in the 57th.
W.Connection beat Real Espana 3-2 in Group D.
