First Star: Carlos Bocanegra came on for Abdou Mangane in the 21st-minute with Stade Rennes leading Le Mans 1-0 from Mangane's 10th-minute opener. Le Mans came back, equalizing through Roland Lamah in the 55th. With Rennes controlling the possession, Ismael Bangoura found Asamoah in the 81st-minute for the game winner. Bocangra was yellow-carded in the 40th-minute.
Second Star: Jozy Altidore went 74 minutes for Hull City, who drew 3-3 with West Ham United. West Ham scored early through Guille Franco in the 5th and Jack Collison in the 11th. Hull came back and were up 3-2 at the half from a Carlton Cole own-goal (27th), and two late goals from Kamil Zayatte (44th) and a Jimmy Bullard penalty (45th). Hull's Bernard Mendy was sent off in the 54th and Manuel Da Costa got the equalizer for West Ham in the 69th-minute. Jonathan Spector was on the bench for West Ham. "We carried a bit of luck for our first goal," Hull manager Phil Brown said. "The second was well-worked and the third wasn't a blatant penalty but it was one that was given. West Ham probably felt aggrieved that it was given, but the bottom line is that if that one was given, then there was certainly one in the second half that should have been given.
Third Star: Brad Friedel needed three saves to keep a point for Aston Villa, who drew 1-1- with Burnley at Turf Moor. Burnley were up when Steven Caldwell scored in the 9th-minute, and it would take Villa until the 86th to find an Emile Heskey equalizer. "I will not turn around and promise that by March or April time he will add another 12 Premier League goals to his tally," Villa manager Martin O'Neill said of Heskey. "But I'm saying he is capable of scoring more goals than his reputation has given him in the last seven or eight years." Brad Guzan was on the bench for Villa.
Bad day for Tim Howard and Everton, losing 3-0 to Manchester United. Clint Dempsey went the full-ninety for Fulham in their 1-0 loss to Birmingham City, with Eddie Johnson on the bench. In the Championship, Frank Simek went the full-ninety for Sheffield Wednesday, drawing 0-0 with Ipswich Town. Simek was yellow-carded in the ninth minute.
In Germany, Michael Bradley went the full-ninety for Borussia Moenchengladbach, beating Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 at the Commerzbank Arena. Oka Nikolov put theball n the back of his own net for 'Gladbach's 54th-minute opener. Roel Brouwers made it 2-0 in the 65th. Pirmin Schegler pulled one back for Frankfurt from the penalty spot in the 86th-minute. A league down, David Yeldell got the shutout for TUS Koblenz, 1-0 winners over Alemania Aachen. Matej Mavric scored the game's only goal in the 76th-minute.
Michael Parkhurst went the full-ninety for Nordsjaelland in the SAS-Ligaen, beating Koge 2-1. Rawez Lawan had both of Nordsjaelland's goals, scoring in the 31st and 90th minutes.
Mexican League playoffs, and Michael Orozco got the late cameo coming on in the 90th-minute for San Luis, 1-0 winners over Toluca. Pablo Aguilar scored for San Luis in the 76th-minute.
