After retiring at the end of the 2010 Major League Soccer season with the Chicago Fire, former US National Team defender CJ Brown has been named as an assistant coach with Real Salt Lake. Brown spent his entire MLS career in Chicago, winning the double in their first season in 1998. He had 15 caps with the National Team.
"CJ has been a highly respected defender in MLS for a long time,” Salt Lake coach Jason Kreis said in announcing the hire. “He has shown what loyalty, professionalism, hard work and dedication can get you in MLS as a player, and I'm certain he will bring those same qualities to his coaching. We are pleased to be adding not only a terrific soccer mind to our staff, but also a terrific man that truly wants to succeed at this new challenge in his life."
