The story of the European weekend was Clint Dempsey. It's tough to compete with two goals, but he wasn't the only National Teamer Abroad to be a difference maker for his club.
"Sometimes you think Clint's not having an impact on the game, but he's had a positive influence in virtually every game he's played, with goals created or scored,” Fulham manager Mark Hughes said. "It was a great finish for the first, and a great touch to create the penalty by himself. He always has a positive impact.
Second Star: Jonathan Spector got on the score sheet for West Ham United in their 2-2 draw with Everton. Spector beat fellow National Teamer Tim Howard for West Ham's 26th minute opener. Everton got an equalizer in the 77th minute, with West Ham going back in front in the 84th but giving up a stoppage time equalizer.
"Every week we've had problems with injuries and right up until the Friday before each game, we have not known what team to pick or where the players are expecting to play," West Ham manager Avram Grant said. "Today, for example, Jonathan Spector had to come in on the right and he did very well."
Third Star: Edson Buddle saw his first minutes in the 2.Bundesliga on Friday, and made his time count. Buddle started and scored in the 76th minute for FC Ingolstadt's 1-1 draw with MSV Duisburg. Buddle subbed off in the 88th minute.

Twente trailed from the 33rd minute, but Marc Janko scored in the 40th and 81st minutes. Janko missed a hat trick when he was unable to convert from the penalty spot in the 84th. Onyewu was yellow carded in the 43rd minute.
