Maurice Edu took his regular spot in midfield for Rangers in their last home game of the Scottish Premier League season on Tuesday. Nikica Jelavic opened the scoring in the 21st minute and Kyle Lafferty finished it off four minutes later with his 25th minute goal. The win has Rangers four points ahead of Celtic at the top of the table on an extra game played. Celtic catches up on games played tomorrow against Hearts and they need at least a tie to stay in the title race. Rangers face Kilmarnock in their 2010-11 finale on Sunday.

"We knew that if we won our last three games we would win the championship," Rangers manager Walter Smith said.  "Well, we have won two of them and we have one more to go at Kilmarnock when we can clinch the championship and that's the way we would want it."

In France, Carlos Bocanegra and St Etienne went up a goal five minutes into a 2-1 loss to Lille.  The score was level by the 15th minute, with St Etienne failing to convert a penalty in the 18th.  Lille scored the winner in the 67th minute.  Carlos Bocanegra started for St Etienne.
