Boeck Marcelo needed one save for the shutout. Jermaine Jones went the distance for Schalke 04, beating Steaua Bucharest 2-1 to qualify for the next round. Kiriakos Papadopoulos opened the scoring in the 26th with Steaua equalizing seven minutes later. Raul scored Sporting's winner in the 57th minute. Sacha Kljestan and Anderlecht beat AEK 2-1 to stay top of Group L. Guillaume Gillet scored both Anderlecht goals (4th and 36th).
